Jewelry is something that is precious to most of us. Whether you are a man or woman reading this, I'm sure you have at least ONE item of silver jewelry. The reason I'm so sure of this is because, why else would you be reading an article entitled "How to Clean Silver Jewelry". Now, regardless of what the jewelry piece is; a watch to put on your wrist, a necklace to place around your neck, or a band to slip upon your finger you want to keep it looking shiny and new. If it's precious to you, then why not treat it with care and clean you jewelry every once in a while.
I've recently learned of a few little secrets on how to keep your silver jewelry clean and sparkling. And here's the best part..... It's inexpensive!!! So here are some tips I've picked up on how to clean precious silver jewelry safely.

Neat trick on how to clean your silver jewelry #1:
Alka-Seltzer

Simply drop a tablet of Alka-Seltzer into a glass of warm water. once the tablet has dissolved and the water is nice and bubbly drop your jewelry into the Alka-Seltzer infused water and let it soak for no more than three minutes. Then, remove the jewelry and allow it to air dry.

Neat trick on how to clean your silver jewelry #2:
Ammonia

Combine a cup of water with a 1/2 cup of ammonia, and watch as magic happens. After you've mixed these two liquids together, place your jewelry inside of it for at least ten minutes. The ammonia will eat away the tarnished surface of your jewelry. Here's some extra information about this ammonia/water solution, it works for gold jewelry as well.

Neat trick on how to clean your silver jewelry #3:
Vinegar

This trick is to be used if your not in a rush to wear your silver trinkets. Mix a 1/2 cup of white vinegar with 2 tablespoons of my all time favorite domestic cleaning supply, baking soda. You want to leave the jewels soaking for about two to three hours. Once they have finished soaking, thoroughly rinse your piece off with cool water, and dry with a gentle cloth.
