Simply follow these next few step to make your steam iron look rust free
  Step 1: mix 1 tablespoon of water with 2 tablespoons of baking soda
  Step 2: evenly coat the bottom of the iron with the paste
  Step 3: allow paste to sit for 5 minutes
  Step 4: use a damp towel to clean off the paste
  Step 5: fill the iron's water vessel a third way fill with distilled water (you could mix in a fourth
    cup of vinegar: optional)
  Step 6: turn on the iron and allow the steam to flow the vents
  Step 7: turn iron off, wipe the bottom once more with a dry rag and pour out the remaining of
   the water solution
