For stubborn stain start by soaking the greasy pot or pan in hot water mixed with any dish detergent. After  30 minutes or so pour the water from the pot or pan and lightly scrub the dish with a dish sponge. After scrubbing the pan sprinkle baking soda onto the grease buildup. Add as much water that is needed to fill up the pot or pan, then add a cup of white vinegar. Let the pot or pan sit in this solution for at least two hours to break down the grease buildup.
Once the dish has sat pour the water mixture away and wipe the pot or pan with a dish sponge. Watch as the grease easily slides off the pan. For light grease buildup simply soak the pot or pan in hot water mix with an Alka-Seltzer tablet. Perform a basic wash with dish detergent after completing the above steps to remove any of the water solution that may be remaining on the pot or pan.
