As we creep deeper into this returning winter weather, we realize date nights may be a little more cozier on the inside.As you begin to set the scene for a lovely late night dinner rendezvous, you decide snuggling up in front of some roasting firewood would be a nice way to conclude the night. The table is all ready for the four course meal you've prepared, all there is left to do is to get the fireplace started before your guest arrives at 8:00. You slide the glass doors back and.... UH OH!! There's burnt ashes and old wood chips from last winter settled at the bottom of the fireplace. One glance at the clock right about your head reveals that it's already 7:50. Well, it's crunch time and I have just the solution for you. So take a deep breath while I inform you on how to swiftly clean your fireplace.

Quickly grab these tools:
Apron
Gloves
Nylon scrub brush
Bleach
Towel
A bowl of warm water
Shovel for the fireplace
Small sweeper for the fireplace
Trash bag
Now that you have everything, let's get started! Grab your apron and gloves. Slip them on to protect your clothing and your hands. Begin by removing the big pieces of wood and sweeping all the ash from the fireplace into the trash bag. Once all the the dust and ash has been removed and you're done having a coughing fit from all the soot that has just flew into your face, pour 3 tablespoon of bleach into the warm bowl of water.Dip your nylon brush in the water solution and in circular motions begin to scrub the base of the fireplace until all the remaining residue is scrubbed away.Lastly, take your towel and wipe the bottom of the fireplace.
